New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year everyone! Last night my family and I went to Waterfront restaurant in Port Melbourne- a beautiful venue situated on the water. It was such a lovely night filled with lots of laughs. As always, I am excited to share with you what I wore. A special thanks to Mum who discovered this beautiful dress at David Jones!

Dress: Collette by Collette Dinnigan

I opted for simple hair and makeup,
 using lipstick as a statement.

Wishing you a year filled with love and joy,

You

Good evening everyone! I hope for the viewers of this blog from Melbourne and most other parts of Australia, that you are all surviving the extreme heat wave. It has been around 42 degrees Celsius here in Melbourne and the fact that my air conditioning has chosen to be lazy and not function today is not particularly good and means that I definitely won't be having a great night's sleep tonight. Let's forget about that though. I thought I'd share with you that this week I began working as an intern at a magazine in Melbourne which  so far has been very interesting. I'm enjoying every moment and have been learning a lot about the stages and processes involved with producing a magazine in my time there so far. I can assure you that at the end of the internship, I will make a post about my experience of being an intern, my favourite moments and other details about the job. But now I'd like to talk about the real reason I'm blogging in my scorching lounge room which makes me feel as though I'm in an oven.

Moving on, I'm not sure if many of you know this, but the blogger website that I use for Frenchy notes how many people have visited your blog. I have recently noticed that the number of visitors has actually grown quite a large amount over the past week which I am very delighted to see. I wanted to make this post about you; to thank you for your support just by taking a look at my blog and to encourage you to keep on the lookout for Frenchy posts, and even leave a comment (preferably positive) on a post you really liked or have something to add to.

That's all until my next post,

Why Frenchy?

Hello there,

While I enjoy my free morning before I have classes, I thought I would share the meaning behind my blog name 'Frenchy'. You see, in 2009 I travelled to Paris with my family and there I found what seemed to me, the most exquisite pair of white canvas shoes with aqua ribbon laces, and hand painted with love hearts and swirls. I know what you might be thinking, but let's just remember I was younger at the time.

Following Paris we travelled to Italy in particular Sicily and there I met with my older cousins from back home which was great. One night in Sicily, my cousins and I went shopping in a town called Capo d'Orlando and to our bad luck it had just began to bucket down with rain. We continued to the jewellery shop where my cousin wanted to buy a 'dog tag' chain, and as we returned to the car I had stood in a deep, muddy puddle in my 'shoes from France', and even worse, I was wearing pink socks so the dye from them absorbed through to the white canvas and stained the shoes (I guess that was a punishment for wearing pink socks with white shoes... blame it on the young me). So my cousins stood there as I became upset and exclaimed 'my shoes from France'. Since then, my cousin Adrian has called me Frenchy, and I guess the name has stuck.

Enjoy your day,
