School's Out!

Howdy everyone! I'm very excited to say that the school year is over for 2013 and I am now on Summer break. It's such a great feeling knowing that I have no more early morning wake-ups and can now sleep in later. I wish I could say I was free to relax and do whatever I want to this Summer, but unfortunately I do have a high pile of holiday homework for 2014. While this is the case, I thought it might be great to write a list of everything I want to achieve this Summer as next year I will be engrossed with a lot of school work seeing as it is my last year, therefore I probably won't have much time at all to chill out and enjoy myself. As I achieve each point of the list, I will cross it off and slowly, slowly I hope to have completed the entire list!

30 Things To- Do This Summer:

  1. Have a picnic with friends or family.
  2. Take lots of pictures and create a 2013 Summer scrapbook.

  4. Start writing a journal and fill it out daily.
  5. Go for a bike ride with friends.
  6. Go roller- skating.
  7. Buy flowers for somebody.

Thoughts...

We all have those days, you know, the ones that attract our worst luck and everything seems to happen suddenly and at once. Well for me, today was one of those days. Last night, I ended up going to bed quite late which probably influenced my zombie like state that I was presented with today. I guess feeling extremely tired didn't exactly help, but moving on, today I felt strange, a feeling that things were at their lowest. Now, I do appreciate the fact that right now I am able to type these words and publish this post, and the fact that I am able to use a computer; I acknowledge that I'm blessed. In an emotional sense however, I felt quite different today, as though friendships had faded, and things were becoming quite complicated. Just as the sky greyed, as did my mood. I became quite accepting to the fact that things were becoming worse with some relationships in my life, not to anyone's fault but due to a gradual drifting and incompatibility. I have accepted this concept, but even still I feel as though life can be unfair with relationships. I guess there's no escape in the sense that sometimes we must accept the inevitable and the most difficult, the notion of change.

Tomorrow will be brighter,

'Ungiven Gifts'

Good evening everyone,

For those situated in Melbourne, Australia I recommend you visit the State Library tomorrow the 27th as there is a display directly out the front of it which has been arranged by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) in order to remember those effected by road trauma. In their outdoor exhibition 'gifts that will never be given' are displayed, that is gifts that were meant for individuals that have died on our Victorian roads. From skateboards, to hair dryers and jewellery boxes with rings still inside, this exhibition is truly tragic and reminds us all about the importance of driving safely on the roads this holiday season. If you are in a position to visit the display, you are able place a candle on a gift in commemoration of that particular individual, which every day is redone by other members of the public. It is important that during the upcoming holiday festivities we remember those unfortunate victims of road trauma and their broken families and that when these victims stepped into their vehicles, they would have thought as anyone would have that they were headed for a destination, and were not prepared for what would happen.

Head to the TAC Facebook page for more details which can be found here:

Why Frenchy?

Hello there,

While I enjoy my free morning before I have classes, I thought I would share the meaning behind my blog name 'Frenchy'. You see, in 2009 I travelled to Paris with my family and there I found what seemed to me, the most exquisite pair of white canvas shoes with aqua ribbon laces, and hand painted with love hearts and swirls. I know what you might be thinking, but let's just remember I was younger at the time.

Following Paris we travelled to Italy in particular Sicily and there I met with my older cousins from back home which was great. One night in Sicily, my cousins and I went shopping in a town called Capo d'Orlando and to our bad luck it had just began to bucket down with rain. We continued to the jewellery shop where my cousin wanted to buy a 'dog tag' chain, and as we returned to the car I had stood in a deep, muddy puddle in my 'shoes from France', and even worse, I was wearing pink socks so the dye from them absorbed through to the white canvas and stained the shoes (I guess that was a punishment for wearing pink socks with white shoes... blame it on the young me). So my cousins stood there as I became upset and exclaimed 'my shoes from France'. Since then, my cousin Adrian has called me Frenchy, and I guess the name has stuck.

Enjoy your day,

Welcome Post

Why hello there fellow bloggers. I am fairly new to the trade but have cured my Sunday afternoon boredom by creating a new blog. My name is Chelsea Elizabeth and I am from Melbourne, Australia and aspire to be a fashion journalist in the future. From this day forward I hope to publish a post every day and hope that you will enjoy what I have to discuss; from the new fashion trends, to the issues that confront our youth, and general advice.
