Graduation!

Last night marked the end of an era. It was my high school graduation. One chapter of my life closed as the celebrations commenced, and another chapter began as the night ended. But what is a graduation without the glitz and the glamour? You all know me well by now, and how much I love everything to do with fashion, hence why I decided to share every element of my outfit with you all.

Dress:

I have never worn a completely red dress before, and to be completely honest, red has never been my colour. This changed when I saw this stunning Alex Perry Tiffany gown. I knew I had to try it on, as it was everything I had dreamed of in a dress and as soon as I did so I thought, "Wow, Alex Perry makes a good red dress".

Seeing as I could not find my size anywhere in Melbourne, I had the gown flown in from the Flagship store in Sydney, and lucky I did because these babies were difficult to find! I had the dress, and now I had to find all the right accessories to match!

Shoes:

If you follow me on Instagram (_chelsealiz) you may recognise the nude patent heels I wear with most of my outfits. These are Christian Louboutin 12cm pumps that I absolutely adore. While the shoes were expensive, I can honestly say I get so much wear out of them and that they are the comfiest high heels I own! Not only that, but they are also quite durable. The fact that I went to a busy night club not long ago wearing them, and they still look brand new is testament to this!

Jewellery:

In terms of jewellery, I wore a pair of Chanel costume pearl studs. I chose these as they are quite large and bold, and wanted to have some fun with the look I wanted to achieve. I also wore a simple gold ring, but avoided any other pieces of jewellery to adhere to the cliché, "Less is more".

Hair and Makeup:

I wore my hair in a messy ponytail as I opted for something simple, seeing as I wanted the dress to steal the show. In order to do this I also kept my makeup quite simple, and used Napoleon products. My eyes were kept very basic and plain, with light eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner. I then wanted to go for the 'Red on Red' look and therefore wore a Napoleon red lipstick.

I am so happy I got to celebrate such a great event with such amazing company, and cannot believe that the high school part of my life is over. I wish all of my peers and any other graduates around the world, the best for whatever the future may hold.

Shanghai Suzy Lipsticks

I love lipstick and when I say I love it, I mean it. It can turn a plain and simple outfit into something fun and daring.  For some reason though, so many lipsticks that I purchase never stay on for the whole time I wear them (either that, or they dry up my lips).

Above: Shanghai Suzy lipstick 'Miss Courtney Electric Flamingo', $12.95

It was only a few months ago that my beautician started selling Shanghai Suzy, and being the lipstick aficionado I am, I decided to purchase one. I could not believe how great the lipstick was. It lasted all day, it kept my lips moist AND it smelled amazing (like the Smiggle textas I loved in my primary school days).

Do you know what I love the MOST about these beauties? Shanghai Suzy lipsticks are not tested on animals nor contain any animal- derived ingredients. Not to mention that each individual lipstick is only $12.95. That means that you can look great, without spending $30 on a lipstick that gives you cracked lips and that you need to reapply every half an hour.

Have you tried Shanghai Suzy and really love it? Let me know by leaving a comment below,

The End of an Era

You may be all wondering where I have been for the past few months... Under a rock? Not exactly. For the past month I have been studying for my VCE examinations- examinations that mark the end of high school life. As of yesterday I am completely free and am now excited to return to the blogging world!

Seeing as I have not had the chance to yet, I thought I would share with you all what my friends and I dressed up as for what is known as 'Muck Up Day'. For those of you that do not know what 'Muck Up Day' is, it is a day where students have the opportunity to dress up and celebrate their last official day of school before examinations begin. This year, my friends and I decided to dress up as Rydell High Cheerleaders from Grease. The day was quite fun, and a good excuse to dress up and enjoy ourselves.

While there were many costumes available online, we decided to put together the outfits ourselves, seeking items from different stores. The skirts, for example, are from ASOS, the t-shirts are Bonds and the Rydell High logo was bought via Ebay. For the neck scarves we bought material from Spotlight, and for my shoes I wore a white pair of Lipstick platform runners with white socks.

Leave a comment and have the chance to decide what my next post is about,

Touchstone by Paspaley

On Wednesday night, I had the delight of attending the Touchstone by Paspaley event at Stokehouse City: a cocktail party to celebrate Paspaley's latest collection.
The night included an array of all things beautiful; from food and drink to the display of the most precious pearls. I use the word 'precious', as it was the main theme for the night. In fact, situated in the middle of the room was a type writer, which gave individuals the possibility to write what is most precious to them. This was then projected onto a screen in the front of the room, giving everyone the chance to celebrate all things precious in life- from family and friends, to lazy Sundays.

Such functions give one the chance to dress up and have some fun. Seeing as I have recently been inundated with homework and exam preparation, I thought it would be the perfect time to escape my little white desk, and make the most of the moment.

As you all know, I love the world of fashion and therefore given the occasion to formally dress up, I decided to wear a navy blue dress by Lover the label, with patent nude shoes. I wore my hair styled in a bun done by my amazing hairdresser, and opted for a simple makeup look, making use of a bright pink Napoleon lipstick.

I had a beautiful night with some amazing people, and am grateful for the opportunity I had to attend this launch and experience the recently developed Stokehouse City, as well as the new Paspaley range- which, I must say is absolutely stunning.

Thank you again Paspaley for a great night,

Saturday Afternoon Studying

This Tuesday I will have my first exam and to say I am nervous is an understatement. It will be an Italian oral examination, meaning that I have to speak to two examiners in Italian for 15 minutes. The first 7 minutes will be about my personal world; family, friends, studying and future aspirations. The 8 minutes following is a discussion about drugs and the youth of today. I thought I would let you guys know that because of this, I may not be around in the blogging world for the next few days, but please feel free to leave a comment or tweet me on any future blog posts you would like to see! Also, I would like to thank you all for helping me reach 5,000 views this week. To think I started this blog not so long ago and have encountered so many views, and so many lovely comments makes me so happy and grateful to have such amazing readers!

All the best,

App of the Month: September Edition!

Hello everyone,

How are you all? Before I share my obsession with a new application I have downloaded on my iPhone, I would just like to thank you all for your positive comments on some of my previous blog posts. I love and appreciate all sorts of feedback, and I am especially grateful for the kind comments I have recently read!

Seeing as end of year exams are approaching, I have been trying to maximise my health by exercising and eating foods that keep me feeling energised and refreshed. In a bid to do so, I decided that I would download some applications that will support my journey and recently found the Lorna Jane application.

With four tabs: Move, Nourish, Believe and Me, the smart phone application covers all bases of emotional and physical health.

The 'Move' tab enables you to track your physical exercise. It addresses nearly all forms of exercise from walking and running, to bootcamp and yoga. I love utilising this tool as it not only measures the distance you travel while running, or your average speed, but also the calories you burn. I feel that this in itself is a source of motivation for me, as I am continuously trying to improve the speed and time of my most recent form of exercise. But it does not stop here.

The 'Nourish' tab takes you to an internet page with an array of healthy recipes. One of my favourites? The 'Cacao Digestive Bites'! What I enjoy about this device is that it provides simple yet healthy alternatives to the sweet fixes I often crave- especially late at night when I am watching Big Brother!

One of my favourite elements of this application is the 'Believe' tab. When experiencing times of stress and anxiety, the 'Believe' tab offers inspirational quotes that reinforce an atmosphere of positivity. The one on my iPhone right now says, "It's not about doing extraordinary things but doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way." To make things even better, if you need more words of wisdom, there is a refresh option!

Lastly, the "Me" tab is simply a profile that offers you the chance to fill out your weight, height, date of birth and gender to track your calories burned during exercise. Though, do not feel put off by this, the form is not compulsory to fill out, and just an option.

I can strongly say that the Lorna Jane application has supported my health journey. It supports me during physical activity, as well as during times when I need a little motivation. I thoroughly recommend this application to each and every one of you and know that it will assist your physical and emotional health significantly!

What smart phone application do you consider the best? Leave a comment to let me know or tweet me @_chelsealiz.
